I tried to get some answers from the search but all I got was this:

My problem is that sometime is not possible to capture an Elite because of the cinematic!
For example last night while I was doing the Ring of Fire mission, for the third time, I could not capture the "Thunderclap" elite from the mursaat boss Maida the Ill Tempered, because the cinematic came on as soon as she/he died!
I got so frustrated and disappointed that I felt like trowing the game out of the window!

That was not the first time that happened to me, my ranger could not get "Barrage" from Markis for the same reason, I had to do the mission twice and I had to try to kill him first, but it was not easy.

I wish ArenaNet would wait at least one or two minutes before the start of the cinematic so to allow players to capture their elites........Please!

you know how you have a chance to collect items dropped after a end mission? maybe a chance like that

i know if u start a cap then it cuts to cinematic then u can cap the skill in town still. thats wat happened to me on one of the bosses. i dont know which. it could have been a glitch tho.

I'm pretty sure that when they have a boss at the end of a mission like that, you can also cap the skill somewhere else just as easily.

It could be alright for you, but why should I not get it where it is supposed to be?

Not Thunderclap the only other two places that I know of are in THK an it's the mursaat boss Chrysos The Magnetic and he doesn't show up all the time! Or the Iron Mines of Moladune but this last one even if I did it countless times I never found the boss who supposedly has it!

Beside it would be nice if ArenaNet would give us a bit of time to collect our items and to get our elites after all these last missions are not so easy (imho) and I personally don't like to have to do them over and over again.

I had to kill the Markis before destroying all the Jades, and capture barrage in the middle of battle. Kill the boss first before the enemies.

I think now after you kill Markis 2 more Jades pop out before the cutscene.

You can always cap the skills somewhere else though, usually in SF. But I like your idea!
